I love to talk about all things wedding…That’s why I am always happy to chat with you at wedding fayres and I set aside an hour for your design meeting to allow us plenty of time to talk about your wedding plans and ensure that your cake fits perfectly within them.
Whilst you are welcome show me photographs of cakes that you have seen online, please do not be offended when I say that I cannot replicate the cake. There are two reasons for this, firstly, wedding cakes are creative pieces of art so it would not be fair to the original designer to try and replicate their cake. Secondly, you deserve for your wedding cake to be unique as you are so why not use the photographs that you have seen for inspiration and let me design your very own wedding cake for you?
The Lavender Whisk Process
After your initial contact I will gather basic information from you regarding your wedding and check my availability. I recommend that you consult my pricing page for a list of starting prices to help you decide whether a cake from The Lavender Whisk is within your budget.
The cost for rustic cakes (naked/buttercream) very rarely increases save for delivery however, the cost of fondant cakes will vary depending upon the design that you chose. We will however always try our best to work within your budget.
Please note that I do not take orders for novelty style wedding cakes (For example: superhero, lego, hidden back etc) if you are unsure whether your design ideas fall into this category please let me know before booking with me.
If you are interested in booking then you are welcome to book a consultation or sample box which consists of 12 cupcakes in 6 flavours of your choice from my menu. The samples cost £15.00 and this will be deducted from your final balance should you decide to book.
It is important to me that you can see where the magic happens so your design consultations take place in ‘The Cake Room’ so that you can view and take inspiration from the beautiful display cakes that span the walls whilst talking about my two favourite things….weddings and cake! At your consultation I will ask you about any themes, colours, flowers, fabrics etc that will form part of your wedding so that I can get a real feel for your wedding before I start designing your cake. I will ask you to bring anything that could be used as inspiration for your cake design.
Following this meeting, I will email you with a sketch (if necessary) and also a full quote for your dream cake.
If you are considering a rustic cake then you can save yourself £20.00 by not meeting me for a consultation as we can discuss all of the details by email or over the phone – just let me know if you could like to do this.
Save The Date
Your wedding is not secured in my diary until a deposit is paid. A £100 non refundable deposit is required to “Save The Date” in my diary if you would like to book once you have tried your samples. Once you have paid your deposit you will be emailed a booking confirmation.
The Big Day
After booking, we will continue to correspond by email and telephone on the lead up to your big day. Once everything is finalised, you will receive an invoice for the balance of your cake which will need to be paid no later than 4 weeks prior to your wedding date.
After this, you can sit back, relax and prepare to be wowed on your big day as I create your dream cake. I will work directly with your venue and florist (if required) during the week prior to your wedding to coordinate delivery and cake setup.
